Profile Tests
Comprehensive Liver Function Profile
The Comprehensive Liver Function Profile helps doctors check various aspects of liver health and how it is functioning. The profile includes several liver enzyme tests as well as measurements of other substances in the blood that can indicate liver problems
Some of the markers in the profile include:
- ALT Elevated levels of ALT can indicate liver damage or disease, particularly related to hepatitis or fatty liver disease
- AST Similar to ALT, elevated AST levels can suggest liver injury, although AST is found in other organs such as the heart and muscles as well
- ALP Elevated ALP levels can indicate liver or bone disease. In the context of liver function, it's often used to assess bile duct obstruction or bone disorders
- Total Bilirubin Bilirubin is a waste product produced by the liver. Elevated levels can indicate liver dysfunction or other conditions affecting the liver's ability to process bilirubin
COMPONENT TESTS
- Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP)
