Hematology and Coagulation

The Hematology and Coagulation department evaluates blood, bone marrow and other fluids to determine blood disorders and disorders of the lymphatic system (lymph nodes and vessels)

By using sophisticated differential analyzers, Sindlab performs precise blood component analysis, providing detailed information to aid in diagnosing various hematological conditions

A common disease of the blood and bone marrow is leukemia, a type of cancer characterized by the rapid production of abnormal white blood cells. Lymphoma, on the other hand, is a cancer of the lymphatic system involving abnormal proliferation of lymphocytes, leading to the formation of tumors in lymph nodes or other lymphoid tissue

Other common diseases that get tested for are thalassemia (alpha and beta). Thalassemia is a significant health concern in Pakistan, and it's estimated that around 5-8% of the population carries the thalassemia gene. Limited access to healthcare resources and genetic counseling, along with cultural factors contribute to its prevalence
