Profile Tests

Bone Profile

The Bone Profile test is used to assess the health and condition of bones. It provides information about bone metabolism and turnover, helping to diagnose and monitor various bone disorders and diseases. The test includes:

  • Calcium  Calcium is essential for bone health, and abnormal levels can indicate bone disorders or other health conditions
  • Phosphate  Phosphate is also important for bone health and metabolism
  • Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) This enzyme is produced by bone cells (osteoblasts) and is involved in bone formation. Elevated levels may indicate increased bone turnover or bone disease
  • Vitamin D Vitamin D plays a crucial role in bone health by facilitating calcium absorption. Its deficiency can lead to weakened bones and increased fracture risk
